Depression

"There’s a tendency for many people who have experienced depression to feel that they have increased sensitivity and compassion as result of that. And therefore some increased awareness of the human condition. And a tendency for anyone who’s been depressed to have less denial. There’s a classic study that shows that people who are depressed actually have a much more accurate view of a depressing world than people who are not depressed. Which is depressing in its own right."
- Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison
