Trois Gymnopédies

Erik Satie has many quirks, and one of them was giving his musical pieces curious names (such as “Three Pieces Shaped Like Pears”). But he is most famous for his “Trois Gymnopédies”, a title inspired in an ancient Spartan festival in which young men danced around naked. To be perfectly honest, I don’t see the connection between the name of song and song itself. To me, the Gymnopédies are a set of three melancholic musical pieces. Loneliness, big empty rooms, a quiet night… these are the things that come to my mind.

And below, I was faced with the same white hair challenge I mentioned before. At least in this case I had a lot of light and shadow contrast that helped me through the transition of masses.
